Interview With Lady LorReign On Her Much Publicized Entry, and Continued Rise, In Adult Scenes

Lady LorReign is a rising adult performer known for her standout scenes with “HotMilfsFuck” and “WIFEY,” including her first BBC anal scene with squirting alongside Jax Slayher and Anthony Ambrose. She continues to captivate fans with upcoming projects for “Naughty America” and the Vixen Media Group, showcasing her bold performances and exhibitionist flair. But the way to adult work for this beautiful lady was surely an interesting one...and well-publicized in the mainstream media.

Shannon Lofland aka Lady LorReign was a 44-year-old Arapahoe County deputy who had to resign her position amid an investigation into her participation in pornographic videos. A 21-year veteran and driving instructor, Lofland cited financial desperation as the reason for her involvement in adult content, where she works under the stage name Lady LorReign. The sheriff's office discovered the busty brunette's (Shannon sports 34E breasts) involvement in online sex videos (her breakout scene being one she shot or Vixen Media's “WIFEY” site), but did not disclose how they learned of her XXX videos. Still, Shannon was ousted from her job due to an internal investigation by the department and now works filming adult content as her full-time gig.

I know you came to porn, as you mention, "out of desperation" from financial woes, but how exactly did you get started in adult work? When we were facing our financial hardships, I had a few individuals that I reached out to in the entertainment industry, that I had met during my time with Getaway Driver, that was featured on the Discovery Channel. I expressed my need for additional income, and they suggested that I contact a talent recruiter they knew in the adult industry for legal, legitimate income. I contacted the talent recruiter and was given the opportunity to film with "HotMilfsFuck" for my first professional shoot. I had been working on vanilla "gigs" for commercials and other types of print advertisements while I was enrolled in the John Casablanca's Model and Talent School, but as that was a very saturated market, I felt as though I was not being as productive with my time while attending casting calls that quite truly never showed any end result. I ultimately made the decision to shoot with HMF, and to this day, I believe that it was a sound decision for our needs.

You have mentioned that you believe even if you did go to your employer to tell them about your ‘secondary employment,’ it would not have been approved. Knowing this, what was the stress like for you keeping this secret?

That's an interesting question to ponder. I think, at the time, the main source of my stress was from what we were facing in our personal lives. The very absolute possibility that we would lose our home was the main source of my stress and concern. I had no intention of involving the Sheriff's Office in my decision to shoot adult content, and the day I decided to resign was the day I was reported to my agency by a co-worker, and then they reported it to the media. I never had any intention of being dishonest with my agency if these personal activities were ever brought to light.

My biggest concern was to protect my family, co-workers, and my agency from any potentially negative media coverage. My co-workers all work hard every day in a profession that is constantly overlooked and taken for granted. I never wanted to be a source of concern or disrepute for any of them. I believed that in the event my activities were exposed, my twenty-one years of dedicated service and respect for my profession would be taken into consideration by them, and in fact, it was taken into consideration when everything came to light. The day I resigned, I had a meeting with my Sheriff. We had an opportunity to discuss my decisions, and I feel that we both parted ways with a mutual, professional respect.

Even though you loved your job and were sad to resign, are you relieved in some way now?

I was very sad to resign. It is no secret that I enjoyed my position in training so very much, and that I was given the opportunity every day to influence our blooming law enforcement officers and the officers across our nation. I miss my driving track days and the amazing connections that I had the opportunity to make throughout my time there, but fortunately, not all was lost. I am still afforded the opportunity to share my knowledge and skills with upcoming law enforcement officers in an academy setting.

My goal has always been to ensure the safety and foundational knowledge of our cadets and recruits, because they only deserve the best foundation and understanding for their own personal safety, and the protection of our public.

Is there anything specific you bring from the experiences of your ‘ex’ job to adult work?

Absolutely! There are so many skills, and so much knowledge that I have been able to apply in my new career in the adult industry. My law enforcement career has allowed me to understand and manage my time effectively. I have brought enhanced interpersonal communication skills to my new career; my ability to work alone, as well as with a group, has been extremely valuable. My organizational skills and dedication have all translated well over into my career in the adult field. I am on time, and work hard to remain professional regardless of the circumstances.

This opportunity, at this time in my life, is something that I truly value, and I can now appreciate every opportunity I am given. I believe if I would have started at a younger age, I would not have appreciated everything I’m currently experiencing. Every day is a new challenge, every day brings something new and valuable to me. This has become the epitome of emotional intelligence, growth, and strength.

Did you know you were working on what would be considered your “breakout” scene when you shot for Vixen Media's WIFEY site? Did that shoot feel/seem different to you in some way?

The experience shooting with WIFEY far surpassed any experience that I had prior. Fortunately for me, every prior experience was so great, and I value each one. But WIFEY brought an entirely different level of artistic profession to what I have come to love every day. Having the opportunity to film a scene with my husband, Anthony Ambrose, was the most amazing experience I could have ever asked for. Generally, spouses are not permitted to be on set while filming, and since this was so real for us and close to home, it made my scene with WIFEY even more valuable.

The management, administration, and the crews that Vixen Media Group have are beyond incredible, and I could not feel more fortunate for the experience. I just value the opportunity extensively and am honored that it is considered my breakout scene. They afforded us that experience.

Are we still too Puritanical in these matters? Working the specific county job you did, does this mean you should be held to a stricter standard?

I have been asked this many times since the media released my story. I am one to respect others and their thoughts and feelings. I don't judge anyone on their decisions, unless their decisions hurt others. I truly believe that we are fortunate to live in such a great country that each individual is allowed to have and express their own thoughts and feelings. Each individual is absolutely entitled to how they feel, whether I agree with them or not.

Looking at the definition of Puritanical, 'Practicing or affecting strict religious or moral behavior,' I believe that is an extreme, and not as common a point of view. I have worked alongside openly gay, lesbian, and transexual individuals for many years. To many people in this world, that kind of lifestyle and life choices are not considered moral or ethical. I certainly fall into the category of the LGBTQ+ community, meaning I am sexually attracted to women and men as a bisexual woman. I lived a lifestyle, along with my husband, that I could not be open about because of the fear of being exposed or ostracized, much like I was exposed at the end of my law enforcement career. In the end, I was exposed, not for being part of the LGBTQ+ community, but because of the choices I made. I feel I had the courage to do what I needed to do to help support my family. With that said, I have not hurt anyone else with the decisions that I have made. I have tried to the best of my ability to protect everyone involved. If anything, I have done everything in my power to help others; citizens, friends, and family, all my life. I am the type of person always trying to find solutions to my personal problems. I have never asked for financial help via GoFundMe, charity, or expected someone else to solve my financial problems. I made the decision with my husband to perform in adult films as a wife and a mother. Fortunately with the body that I have been blessed with, I did what I felt I needed to do to save our family home.

So, morally or ethically, is that wrong?

Throughout my career in law enforcement, I worked with many types of people. If there are any law enforcement officers or members of the law enforcement community reading this, and really think about it, we all know that there are all kinds of “deviant” sexual behaviors that are considered common or even acceptable. Many law enforcement members cheat on their spouses, and that is brushed off as part of the stressors of being in law enforcement. Typically, after some marital counselling or divorce, those officers move on, and many times are considered heroes. But to do what I did, openly, I am considered a deviant, according to puritanical beliefs. Overall, we are all sexual beings and sex in one's personal life can motivate people to be better, be more successful.

Having been exposed the way I was in the media, first locally, then nationally, then internationally, has allowed me to live openly, to not fear my adult family members knowing our lifestyle. I had no choice but to embrace it. I was given a choice by our local news after someone in my agency tipped them off to my “story,” to either come do an interview on camera or have them do the story regardless. He convinced me to do the interview, to give my reasons for performing in adult films, and he assured me that my reasons would resonate with millions of people across the nation. I believed he was right. With the economical stressors that we are all experiencing on some level, many are doing what they have to do to survive. My family members have known me my entire life, and my extended family has known me for years. They know that I am a good person and have a good heart. Not one of my family members has shunned me, and they are supportive of whatever I decide to do, as long as I’m happy.

What’s your favorite type of scene to shoot? What have you shot, if anything, that you won’t do again?

My favorite types of scenes to shoot are standard or anal boy/girl scenes, not related to familial ties. I have honestly had an amazing time shooting every scene that I have. And the individuals that I have been able to work with have all been more than amazing. I am very fortunate. In the beginning of this new career, I made the personal decision that I would not do anything that I wasn't comfortable with, and I have held strong to that decision. I have not ever been coerced or forced into doing something that is uncomfortable for me, and, honestly, if it came to that point, I would confidently refuse to continue. This isn't something that I have been faced with, nor would I allow anything to happen that was outside of my comfort level, so I have no regrets about any scene I have successfully shot. I am hugely appreciative of the level of professionalism and consideration from the companies I have had the ability to work with. I advise all talent, male or female, not to ever do anything that you are uncomfortable with doing.

You can say no and walk away without fear of retribution.

What’s coming for you in the future?

I can only imagine what the future may hold. I plan to continue to work hard and appreciate every moment. Any opportunity that presents itself is a great new experience, and I won't take it for granted. I want to work to become an advocate and mentor for other talents in the adult industry, helping them along on their journey. I would love to continue my work with the Vixen Media Group brands and Naughty America, and quite honestly, any production company that allows an opportunity for me to perform is what I am so looking forward to. I have many scenes that have yet to be released, and I am so very excited to share them with everyone!
