Will The Trump Tariffs Keep You From Getting Off?

No matter what President Trump, Elon Musk, or Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (to name just a few) are getting to presently in their full-steam charge ahead DOGE, we all had to know that it was just a matter of time that

even U.S. sex toy users would be affected by the new administration. Sexual wellness supplier Dame has responded in their way, by implementing their "Trump Tariff" surcharge on vibrator purchases.

What Dame Is Doing

Dame’s move is in response to President Trump’s recent tariff increase on Chinese imports, as Dame CEO Al Fine said, “Due to these added tariffs, sadly, the cost of our products will rise at a time when states are actively trying to ban the sale of vibrators in grocery stores [and pharmacies].”

This extra new check-out fee is Dame’s way of being completely transparent on the costs they will incur from Trump’s 34% tariff on Chinese imports, an increase Dame serves directly, albeit not happily, to their

customers.

What We Already Lost

The scary few years of the COVID pandemic leveled costly damage across so many levels of society…not to mention the health and wealthfair of the global populace. It also took a great big bite out of product production (remember everyone crying about supply chain shortages?). And one of the product creators hit was surely sex toy makers. Too many suppliers and manufacturers were left bereft of the materials they needed to make unpowered dildos or male masturbators, let alone more high-end sex toys like vibrating anal plugs or sex dolls. If there was ever a time we all worried how, if and mostly when we’d be able to get off with

a toy (or a partner even) it was during the pandemic to be sure! In the U.S. (and what affects America affects the world) might we be priced out of or find a deficit of our sex toys, but now for a different reason?

A “Trump Tariff,” on a vibrator might just be the first of many trickle-down effects we might feel in our future sex lives…and not in the good way of a golden shower! Before he was elected, there was lots of suspicion that Donald Trump was aligned with the ultra-conservative Project 2025. Their declarations abut pornography (and lots of other cultural mores) could be seen by plenty to be plenty restrictive.

If Trump follows any of this rhetoric or even simply levels heavier tariffs, what could it all mean to us beating of into a porn star stroker…even if we can come to afford one.
