My verdict
Osci 2 offers unique sensations for G-spotting that made me squirt but didn't offer orgasmic released. Perhaps more importantly, I don't think it necessarily felt good to use. However, it does offer interesting clitoral stimulation, and I hope Lovense considers a similar external toy.
- Pros
- 1. Easy to use buttons
- 2. Waterproof
- 3. Unique sensations
- 4. Designed to reach the G-spot
- 5. Long-lasting internal battery
- Cons
- 1. Whirring noise is uncomfortable
- 2. Don't need standby mode for battery
Materials and care
Osci 2 is covered with a silky silicone that you'll probably want to use lube with. This makes it feel quite luxurious. Near the oscillating end, the layer is thin and looser, and there's a visible divet/dimple around the part that oscillates. It almost reminds me of Lelo's Ora toys, even though they serve different functions.
During use, the silicone pops up and moves back into place, and I sometimes had to push the silicone layer back into the divet. However, this doesn't prevent it from working and is only a cosmetic gripe.
While the majority of the shaft is rounded, the head is not to make room for the oscillating mechanism. It's slightly flatter toward the front here, preventing it from being round. The mechanism around the oscillator, beneath the silicone, seems to be hard plastic, and most of the shaft is rigid with firm silicone. At its widest point, Osci 2 has a diameter of just over one inch.
Lovense has created an entirely waterproof design, making this toy okay to use in the shower or bath and super easy to wash with soap and water.
Design
Osci 2 features the same bright pink silicone as other Lovense toys. It's not for everyone, but it certainly won't get lost!
There are seams down the center front and back that I can feel with my finger but not in use. A metallic plate on the backside of the base adds a sophisticated touch and draws your eye to the magnetic charging connections but is not necessary.
This toy uses a magnetic charger like many modern vibrators. However, the cable (which doesn't come with a charging block/adapter) was a bit short and the magnets were not as strong as some of its competitors. Because the cable was almost too short for the toy to rest on my nightstand while charging, I had to very carefully place the magnets to avoid them from becoming disconnected.
Osci 2 is has two raised buttons that are easy to use. Hold the button closest to the base to turn it on and hit this same button to cycle through the oscillating modes. There's a slow, medium, and fast mode, then a pulsation, escalation, and back-and-forth escalation. I didn't find any of the modes better than regular oscillation.
The second button cycles back down through the settings. You can technically turn the oscillation off while the toy remains on with the LED light blinking if you don't hold the first button again (which you can do at any time to power it down). This seems like a dubious design choice that will waste power.
Packaging
After taking off the top of the box, you'll see Osci 2 nestled in foam designed specifically for it. Notches make it easier to remove than some toys from their boxes. An additional slot holds the charging cable. Below the foam, you'll find the instruction manual and storage pouch.
Price
Osci 2's price is on par with other Lovense offerings, which puts it lower than premium brands like Lelo but higher than bottom-dollar toys. If you like it, you'll probably be fine with the price, especially if you enjoy the app. I think the price would be better if this toy also vibrated, however.
Experience
Osci is well-designed for G-spotting and can even be used clitorally. Although not overly large, the head lacks a taper that can make penetration easier. I found that the rigidity makes it feel larger than it is, too, which sometimes makes it uncomfortable. It would be hard to keep the oscillation with a drastically tapered head or rigid body, however, so I understand that compromise had to be made here. Ideally, I would use this only after warmup with something more tapered and potentially softer, but not everyone may need that.
The oscillating function worked very well. Although I can force it to stop with my fingers, it requires a lot of pressure, and it is unlikely that you could stop it during actual use. It did stutter a bit before shutting off as the battery died rather than simply growing slower and weaker.
Overall, Osci 2 felt.. interesting. Different but not necessarily pleasure. It didn't "Wow!" me, and I wouldn't choose it over a favorite dildo or vibrator. I think it actually felt more interesting when used clitorally.
I wouldn't describe this toy as whisper-quiet. Perhaps it's because it has more of a mechanical whirr than a traditional rumbly of a vibrator–and it becomes whinier as you make it go faster–the noise seemed more noticeable to me than many vibrators. You likely won't hear it through a closed door, especially under the covers and with some white noise, however.
Others
I do not like to use apps with toys, so I skipped it with this one. However, there are free apps for Apple and Android–and Windows with an adapter. They let you sync toys with music or videos, video chat, customize the settings, control your toy remotely, or put the controls in someone else's hands–from strangers to your partner.
