maude dome review: minimalism at its finest

A word you're going to see a lot in this review is "simple," because this product just exudes simplicity. There's nothing fancy going on with the toy's design. The toy comes in a nice charcoal color. There's a thicker side, and a thinner side at the other end. One hole goes throughout the entire toy. Or is it technically considered two holes? A sleek maude logo is featured on the "front" of the toy. Front being in quotes because there's no correct way to use this toy. You can use it from either end and from any angle. You don't need to think too much about it, just stick it in and have fun. Obviously, if you prefer a realistic-looking toy, then you're not going to find it here. The opening is just a hole. No molded labia or fake clitoris here. What you see is what you get.

With how highly I'm speaking about this toy, you'd expect there to be some crazy stuff going on with the interior. That isn't true at all. Again, the one word to describe this toy is "simple". I was surprised to find out that this toy is just ridges and bumps. The bumps are featured on the tighter part of the toy, towards the top. If you use the toy as I did, then you'll feel the bumps only when you're more inserted into the toy. The ridges are the real star of the show. They felt FANTASTIC. They're very pronounced and not too soft. Oftentimes, I see crazy diagrams of sex toy interiors. I use the toy and I'm like, "What part of the diagram did I just feel?" I sometimes struggle to feel the actual texture of some toys. Either because the material is too soft so everything just moves out of the way, there's too much going on, or it's just straight up a bad design. That's not the case with the dome. I felt everythinggggg. Every single ridge, bump, and slight tightening of the tunnel. I was also impressed with how the toy handled. I was almost concerned about the design before actually trying the toy. I thought that it would be hard to use because of a lack of grip. Thankfully, I was wrong. The toy was extremely easy to hold onto and stroke with. The weight of the toy really added to the experience, too. It was heftier than I expected, but in a good way. It had a nice weight to it that added a lot. Once you get going with this toy, you really get going. The ease of use combined with the nice weight of the toy makes for a fast stroking experience. Going up is quick because of the ease of use, going down is quick because of the toy's weight and relaxed design. And during my fast stroking, I felt every single part of the toy. It was amazing. The tunnel isn't too tight, so if you prefer a grippy toy, then I might look elsewhere. I personally love how open the tunnel is, as I prefer the feeling of stroking. Going in from the other side of the toy, which is the thinner side, was just as fun! I personally preferred using the toy with the flared side down. As I showed in the video earlier, the toy is so squishy. You can squeeze the toy during play for a more adjustable experience. I rarely did this as the toy felt amazing as is!

The toy was super high-quality. I didn't notice anything wrong with it before or after my session. It came with a nice amount of powder on it to maintain its interior feel. Nice touch from maude!

I don't want to give maude any ideas, but I'd pay a lot more money for this toy than what it actually costs. This toy retails for $35 USD on the maude website. So many budget masturbators retail for around the same price. Some of the cheaper ones start at about $15. When you get these toys, you're paying for the vaginal mold and maybe the name behind the product if a pornstar is attached to it. With maude, the entirety of that $35 is going into quality and pleasure. It shocks me that this is really how much it can cost to create a high-quality stroker when you're just trying to focus on pleasure rather than anything else. This toy looks and feels like a luxury product. Like something from LELO. The difference is that maude isn't charging hundreds of dollars for it. Fantastic work from the team at maude for bringing costs down and taking quality up.

The packaging is eco-friendly and super exciting! It got me pumped up for what's to come. It felt luxurious and modern.

Again, simplicity reigns queen with this toy. I always enjoy using a stroker, but I'd be lying if I said that I don't look forward to the maintenance of those strokers. After a session, there's nothing I want to do more than just sit back and relax. Most pocket pussy type toys require immediate cleanup, though. Especially if I cum inside them. But the dome? It's super fast and easy. First of all, I don't need to clean up an orgasm from the inside of the toy if I don't want to. Having a favorite toy was always a strange concept to me. They're all so different. If I'm in the mood for one thing, I'll reach for one toy. If I'm in the mood for another, I'll reach for that one. It's expensive, luxurious, and does so much to give me an orgasm. Now, when I'm asked that question, I feel inclined to include the maude dome. It's nothing like the Solace Pro. I find myself questioning whether or not the maude dome really is my one and only favorite, and if it's really possible to have a favorite sex toy at all. It might not be the only toy I'll reach for whenever I feel like treating myself. But I can definitely say that it's going to be the one I'm reaching for the most.
