My verdict
An overall great toy with a very unique design, but a couple unfortunate design choices.
Pros
1. Incredibly easy to clean
2. Nice suction
Cons
1. A little noisy
2. Delicate plastic clips might break quickly
About the product
This is a manual masturbator from Tenga, a well known Japanese sex toy manufacturer. It is one of their more well known toys, but fortunately not one of their disposable options. It's incredibly easy to clean and use and it looks sleek and high quality.
Design
This masturbator does not have any external designs on the openings so it might be ideal for those looking for something less immediately obvious. The signature feature is that it flips open for easy cleaning and for apply lube before use. To use that, there is a removable U-shaped clip that holds it together when in use or in storage, and then once removed there are two small plastic clips to prevent it from just flipping open. You just squeeze the sides gently to pop open those clips and the whole thing hinges open at the entrance. Once put back together, there is also a one way valve on the opposite side of the entrance, which allows for suction during use. One downside is that the whole masturbator is relatively large/bulky, which makes it a little difficult to use with one hand, even if you have larger hands. The included base and U-shaped clip also function as a drying stand which is really nice, you just flip the stand upside down and then with the masturbator flipped open partially the grooves near the top can slot into the clip to keep it open.
Experience
I quite like this toy, the overall package is quite nice and the soft TPE feels great. The internal textures aren't very intense but I believe the black edition ramps that up while maintaining the same flip open design if you need more texture. The suction also feels great, and adds to the overall experience quite a bit. Some air is pushed out as you slide in, but then you can also squeeze the hard plastic sections on the top and bottom to push out air manually and increase the suction. I will say that likely adds to the noise quite a bit, but I think it's a good trade off for how good it feels. As mentioned before, the textures are decent but not very intense. The first section has some fins that rub against the top or bottom of your dick as you slide in, depending on which you orient the toy. The second section is more or less uniform all the way around and has ridges that hit the sides more. The last section requires you to be on the longer side but it has an "orb" enclosed in a shell that you slip into for a little extra head stimulation. Overall there's some nice variety, but it could be a little more intense.
Materials and care
It generally feels like it's high quality and robust, and should last a long time if it's taken care of and not used too roughly. The TPE on the inside feels very soft which is great while you're using it. In comparison to silicon strokers, like those from Yoni, this feels much softer, though it is harder to maintain. There is unfortunately one well documented design flaw with the plastic clips that keep the two halves connected in use, but if you are careful that shouldn't be too much of an issue. With the flip open design mentioned earlier it's very easy to clean, just open it up and then rinse it off with cool to tepid water and let it dry with the built in stand. Occasionally using a toy cleaner or very mild neutral soap would likely help with longevity also by prevent any mold/mildew or other nastiness from building up. One note here on cleaning, the "orb" section will often retain some water so you may need to use a towel or shake it out to help it dry.
Price
It retails for $99 on the Tenga website, and just a little bit cheaper on Amazon at $87. With coupons or sales it could definitely go for cheaper on sex toy websites. I would say that this is a little high for a manual stroker with no electronics, but it does have a very unique design which can potentially improve it's longevity so I think it's generally fair.
Packaging
The packaging was excellent, the whole product was enclosed in plastic wrap that tears off, and then the toy itself is still encased in a hard plastic shell that connects to the base. There is also an extra cap below the base that doesn't properly attach and is meant to be thrown away, but it enclosed 2 sample packets of Tenga lube and the instructions.

Looks fun, I personally think it’s a bit pricey for no electronics but I could see myself picking it up if it ever goes on sale.
